5 tips to speed up approval of your grant case files

Jul 25, 2026 · By DossierVert

After supporting many LogisVert and RénoClimat case files, a few habits keep showing up among contractors whose files get approved on the first try. None of these tips are complicated — it's mostly a matter of discipline from the start of the project.

1. Insist on detailed invoices, not generic receipts. Both programs require invoices that specify the brand, model, sometimes an NRCan reference number, and always the client's name and address. A simple cash-register receipt is almost never enough. Get in the habit of checking the invoice before leaving the supplier rather than discovering the gap when you're putting the file together.

2. Check name matching from the start. The name on the invoice, on the proof of ownership, and on the application must match. If the home is owned jointly but the invoice is under only one name, fix that before submitting rather than after a refusal.

3. Photograph systematically, even when it's not strictly required. Some measures don't require a photo at initial submission, but a program can ask for one later during review. A photo of the nameplate and the finished installation, taken the same day as the work, costs thirty seconds and avoids a follow-up visit to the client weeks later.

4. Respect the deadlines — they aren't negotiable. LogisVert gives you nine months after installation. RénoClimat requires that work never start before the first evaluation. These are strict rules with no exception in the official guides. Build your project timeline around these constraints, not the other way around.

5. Centralize tracking instead of relying on an inbox. The number one cause of delays we see isn't a missing document — it's a document the client sent that got buried in an inbox while the file moved on elsewhere. That's exactly the problem DossierVert solves: a document checklist generated automatically from the selected measures, a portal where the client uploads directly with no account to create, and stage tracking that shows at a glance where every file stands.
